Getting Married at Walnut Grove

We rejoice in the opportunity to share the blessings of holy matrimony with you. Your wedding is a sacred occasion. We believe that “it is instituted of God, regulated by God’s commandments, blessed by our Lord Jesus Christ, and to be held in honor among all…”

The use of Walnut Grove and its facilities, for the wedding service and/or the reception, is available to church members, their families, and others who wish to have their services at Walnut Grove, at the discretion of the pastor.

The first step in planning your wedding at Walnut Grove is to meet with our pastor. At that time a date will be set for your ceremony and the pastor will describe the process of premarital counseling and help you begin planning your wedding service and review the wedding policy.

We ask that couples wishing to marry in the church attend several worship services with us both before and after the wedding, distance permitting. As you start a new life together, we would like to get to know you and support you in all the changes that lie ahead as well as for you to get to know us.

We do require premarital counseling with the pastor. We want to provide you with every possibility of success in Christian marriage. The premarital counseling consists of an online questionnaire and several sessions with the pastor to discuss strengths and growth areas.
